The Blue and Orange Days

Oh goodness.. I always get this emotional feeling everytime I return to NUS. Do you remember the very first time when we met? I still remember the place. I even still remember the second time we met. I can somehow picture those moments.

I really have difficulty in forgetting these.

I remember the first lenghty conversation we had. It was the night of full moon. It was the night of mid autumn festival. It was six years ago.

Right.. enough of you.

So I went to NUS for cellgroup today.

I had my dinner at the Engineering canteen, complete with a glass of $1.30 Strawberry juice. Then went to the busstop in front of Comp Centre. Sigh.. that very building was our holy grail when we were doing our five months English course. During the lunch time, we would rush for lunch at the Arts Canteen, then went to the Computer Lab at Comp Centre for our daily dose of internet. We couldn't be late because the China students outnumbered us.

And staring at the old Admin Building, the old stairs; it was simply nostalgic. Day after day, we had our English course there. The nice tutors, the good friends, the simple life. I still think that the first six months in Singapore was my happiest moment. Not necessarily the best moment, but I was definitely a happy BOY back then.

Then we come to PGP.. the saving grace for us who didn't earn enough point to stay at our Halls. That building was new and majestic back then. Now it's old and worn out.

And PGP always reminds me of one thing.

Youth NUS. Saw that isolated meeting room where we often had our cellgroup. Remember that moment when someone reported to the security upon seeing us praying; she thought we were in trance or something. The defining meeting when we asked each and everyone to make his/her stand. Such a tense meeting =P I dunno if we did it right but I certainly remember those who wanted to continue to fight for Youth NUS. And because of that vow, you are always my comrades.

Hmm..

si mahasiswa NTU yg bunuh diri itu denger2 namanya david. sigh.. mgkn final year presssure was too much to him. jadi inget masa2 kerjain final year project, tinggal 3 bulan dan gua maseh blank. untung ngga masuk berita ky dia. life is a funny thing. well since there is a chance that this may not be a simple suicide, lets not assume so. maybe there's a truth behind this. duh.. jd inget kalo di conan trus dia bilank, "ini bukan bunuh diri.. ini adalah kasus pembunuhan!" jadi serasa mao jadi detektip -_-

Father

I am reading the book "Wild at Heart". One of the most striking points that the author made was that of how many, if not almost all, men are most severely wounded by their own father. You would have thought that your dad will be the one who believes in you when everyone else is doubting you. You expect him to do so. Coz when he does, you know that it ain't matter even if the rest are against you. So when it turns out that he is siding with those who doubt you. It hurts the most. It kills off your hope. It strips you off your courage and belief to be a real man. Because the man who is suppose to show you how to be a real man, the one whose approval matters the most.. does not side with you. He loves you.. yes. But a father's role is not simply to love and nurture. He is more than just that. He is your assurance, stronghold, strength. He leads you into adventure, he fights with you side by side, he shows you how to rescue a beauty. When your father of flesh and blood ca...
