Batik Air Review

So today is the first day I try Batik Air.
The full fledged flight version of Lion Air.
After finding myself stranded at Changi Airport last week for four hours (initial departure 9.20pm, eventual departure 01.40am) I vow to always avoid budget airlines to the best of my ability.

Well.. sometimes u just have no choice.
I end up booking Jetstar for my upcoming flight to Surabaya from Singapore.
What can I do? The non budget flight are not feasible either due to the timing or the price (twice Jetstar's price).

Back to batik air.

Few things that matter when it comes to flight experience

1) seat comfort and leg space
the seat is so much more human than Lion's.
I always end up with neck pain every time I take Lion Air (and that's for a less than 2 hour journey from Sg to Jkt).
As for Batik Air, the angle for the head rest part is comfortable enough.
leg space is also good enough.

2) food!
sadly, you can give their food a miss.
they had choice of nasi goreng or nasi kuning for my morning flight.
something like what you will find in high school's canteens if you still remember.
but hey that's a good thing! so if you are not too hungry you can just skip it and sleep.
and if you are starving, anything is good enough right.

3) entertainment
they are still playing Lego the movie as of today Oct 2015.
so yeah... don't expect latest blockbuster. but again, it's good thing.
you can get your good sleep without facing the temptation of watching the final installment of Hunger Games.

4) ease of access to flight
this matters a lot when you travel to and from Soekarno Hatta.
in fact it should have been in top three most important factors.
Lion Air tend to park their aircraft in some isolated place that take loonngg ride to terminal.
It is crazy! That also translates to longer waiting time for luggage. Like.. 45-60 mins?
Batik Air seems to be parked right at the terminal. So that is a HUGE relief.

5) price
it is around IDR 200-300k pricier than Lion Air if you compares the same route.
so.. price-wise it's semi budget.
but package wise it is full fledged flight.
so for all the shortcomings like the food, entertainment and stuff... I think it's worth it.

6) trivial!
I was sitting today on the same row as Hedi bloody Yunus!
Really wanted to talk to him but somehow I was a bit shy.
Sigh..
Could have at least ask him to do a short video duet with me :D

overall verdict:
So far so good. Keep it up Batik Air!

si mahasiswa NTU yg bunuh diri itu denger2 namanya david. sigh.. mgkn final year presssure was too much to him. jadi inget masa2 kerjain final year project, tinggal 3 bulan dan gua maseh blank. untung ngga masuk berita ky dia. life is a funny thing. well since there is a chance that this may not be a simple suicide, lets not assume so. maybe there's a truth behind this. duh.. jd inget kalo di conan trus dia bilank, "ini bukan bunuh diri.. ini adalah kasus pembunuhan!" jadi serasa mao jadi detektip -_-

Father

I am reading the book "Wild at Heart". One of the most striking points that the author made was that of how many, if not almost all, men are most severely wounded by their own father. You would have thought that your dad will be the one who believes in you when everyone else is doubting you. You expect him to do so. Coz when he does, you know that it ain't matter even if the rest are against you. So when it turns out that he is siding with those who doubt you. It hurts the most. It kills off your hope. It strips you off your courage and belief to be a real man. Because the man who is suppose to show you how to be a real man, the one whose approval matters the most.. does not side with you. He loves you.. yes. But a father's role is not simply to love and nurture. He is more than just that. He is your assurance, stronghold, strength. He leads you into adventure, he fights with you side by side, he shows you how to rescue a beauty. When your father of flesh and blood ca...
