Been contemplating on writing (like really write) about this one day.
Heck even this introductory post took me weeks to settle on.
You know... King Arthur's story?
Those knights of the round table?
They were his best knights.
There was the famous Lancelot who had an affair with the queen.
And Galahad, Lancelot's illegitimate child, would turn into one of Arthur's finest knights.
He was one of the three knights who achieved the holy grail.
And then there is King David.
He got the legendary Three. Who would be the equivalent of the sannin in Naruto.
Or the five tiger generals in Romance of the Three Kingdoms.
"The Three are Ishbaal the Tachmonite ("thou will make me wise"), Eleazar ("God has helped") son of Dodo ("his beloved") the Ahohite ("brother of rest"), and Shammah son of Agee the Hararite." (source: wiki)
And he also got his order of Thirty finest warriors. (Uriah being among them).
Now this is my favorite story in the whole old testament.
It is a shame that they never made a proper movie out of it.
Well.. like it or not,
the moment we decided to follow Jesus, we are saying that we are taking up His Kingdom's banner.
There is this hymn 'Onward Christian soldiers' that we used to sing in good old Protestant church.
That song may not be sung anymore in modern churches today..
But the truth behind the song changes not.
And with that in mind,
I begin to see all those saints who went before us as His knights who marched with His banner for the advance of the Kingdom. Moving forward, taking grounds.
They were in the enemy territory after all.
And so are we.
Yet now is not the time it seems.
When that battlefield rally comes calling,
I will start writing.
