Today on my way to office, saw those ladies from the Heavenly Mother Clan.
So what is this Heavenly Mother stuff? Basically they (named Church of God), believe that there is this 'hidden character' that is only revealed today, towards the Second Coming. And this hidden character is the 'Heavenly Mother'. They argue that this world's family system (dad, mum, child) is an image of heaven's family.
So we know the Father, we know the Son.. then where is the Mother? The Mother, they argue, is the bride mentioned in the Revelation (diff from bride in the Gospel).
So my questions were simple to the lady who approached me.
1. So will someone be saved if he doesnt know this heavenly mother?
She was struggling for a while before finally saying 'No'. To which I rebuke strongly, coz this claim is definitely against many verses in the Bible. But then I suppose she can't really say 'Yes' rite?
2. The Bible says that whoever believes in Jesus will be saved. And there is no other name under this earth in whom we can be saved. And that Jesus is the way, truth and life. So.. can you show me the verse that says the same re. the heavenly mother?
She was quite annoyed with me at this point, and couldn't answer at all. Because there simply isn't any verse like that.
She kept refering to her verses which by the way, says nothing to claim that this heavenly mother is such an important figure.
Well.. eventually, she was fed up and told me to read her brochure, leaving me her mobile no. and left me.
I hope my experience can give you some ideas the next time you meet those ppl. NOt to boast about our knowledge whatsoever, but to tell them the truth as it is. To counter-evangelise them.
Don't let them dictate the conversation, but straight away throw them questions, and prepare the verses. Don't try to argue with logic, coz that's what they are all about.
Bible is enough.
And make sure you got their no. coz well.. now I can start sending this lady some useful verses that I believe, by God's power, will open her mind ^^.
