Heaven will solve our problems, but not, I think, by showing us subtle
reconciliations between all our apparently contradictory notions. The
notions will all be knocked from under our feet. We shall see that there
never was any problem.
- CS Lewis, Grief Observed
yesterday was a problematic one.
What could go wrong did go wrong.
But hey, I am still in one piece after all.
and there are still ways to solve the 'problems'.
So it's not so bad.
And did something for the first time in my life too.
Attended the young adult service hah.
today I did another,
Attending Stephen Tong gospel rally.
The very same rally that my mom went to as a teenager :)
forgetting what lies behind, straining forward to what lies ahead. (Phil 3:13)
she never forgot this verse spoken by Stephen Tong. probably 40 years ago?
looking back there were many things I wish I had done differently.
or wish I had made a different choice.
'if only I didn't go that way, I would not have this problem today'.
so I thought.
but you know.. 'what could have been' is a waste of time.
and maybe.. this is just a journey we have to go thru.
there was never a problem.
if Jesus is standing next to us now, His eyes are ever on what lies ahead.
there is only an ever nearing eternity right in front of us.
that's all that matters.
if anything, every embarrassment and failure we have will be our best testimony of God's faithfulness.
and ultimately, our helplessness without Him.
so you see.. there never was any problem.
In the moment, embarrassment can hurt beyond words. But to be embarrassed is to be vulnerable, and vulnerability can give you wings.
