While we are moving towards the bangs and woahs of planetshaker style, it is quite funny that as i watch chc's service, i find them singing True Worshippers' songs, in english of course.
And they do not simply translate, they give the songs new meaning, and at times, better ones.
There were three songs that i recognised from the last service that I watch,
'Ku kan terbang', 'Walau seribu rebah..' (forgot the title), and my recent favorite, a servant's heart (forgot the indo title).
well it proves that for God, methods and styles are secondary.
what matters the most is the substance, His heart.
what matters is the person, whether God is moving thru that person,
the method can be anything.
be it a rod, or a stone, a robe, handkerchief, shadow, or a cross.
be it planetshakers, true worshippers, or *ehem*.. symphony music.
and the substance of our Christianity is our faith in God.
and the substance of our faith is our encounter with God.
without that experience,
the relationship will not last.
our Christianity is not defined by our ministry, or position, or talent,
it is defined by the seal of the blood that was shed 2000 years ago.
irrevocable, unchanging, sovereign and ultimate.
we don't need the world to admire us,
we don't need them to love us.
Jesus said the world will hate you for you are not of this world.
and no.. we are not perfect, nor are we holy.
He is.
we will never live in His freedom, if we don't understand the power of His grace.
we will never be good enough, forever condemned, forever judging,
if we don't understand the power of the cross.
but when we understand the identity we have in Christ,
and believe that completely with our heart,
and walk in that belief..
we will truly be manifesting God in our lives.
