I don't believe in democracy

Democracy in its liberal, western form, that is.
To some it's praiseworthy how Indonesia have 'progressed' as a democratic country.
From three political parties in Soeharto's days to dunno how many parties now.
But to me.. democracy is always a danger.

I didn't know that Ahok mentioned the Jesus-Barabbas story too in Imago.
That's always my favorite example of how democracy can go wrong.
I look at our nation, and I see Nineveh. I see the Jews.
Millions of people who do not know left from right.

Now we got only two candidates. Wowo and Wiwi. Pretty good chance of getting it right.
But how do you expect 200 over million people to vote wisely?

Ok.. for argument sake.. let's assume 90% of us are going to follow our heart to vote.
So.. no foul play. And we follow our belief. But where does that belief come from?
From what we listen to. Which is? Media, people around us, etc etc.
Even national tv channels are now used for political agenda.
I find it silly that we believe in some articles written by dunno who and debate over them on Fb.

How many of us really know the source? Si narasumber? Si wiwi dan wowo?
How many of us really know the truth?
And if say.. any of my friend know the truth about Wowo or Wiwi, I would beg them to share with me in private. Please... I need to know.

I refuse to debate over Wowo's involvement in Tragedy 98 because I know fully well that I don't know the truth.
What's the point?
If those in power intend to reveal the truth, they will. Then we will talk.
If for some reason they decide to hide it, what's the point of defending or accusing Wowo?

But please don't go and quote Jesus for your campaign sake.
When Jesus said "he who is without sin, let him be the fist to cast a stone"..
He CERTAINLY did not have politics in mind!
Sorry... I just can't help feeling upset about this.

Jesus never teach us not to judge btw. Judge when you have to. But let's start with judging ourselves.
The point is.. don't be a hypocrite.

Now.. this post is not about politics.
It's about redemption.
I refuse to accept that either wowo or wiwi is the key to 'save this nation'.
We vote, but God is the one who promotes.

This nation needs a savior.
And I am not ashamed to say that his name is Jesus #selamatkanIndonesia
(but those are two different matters? you gotta be kidding me)

Father

I am reading the book "Wild at Heart". One of the most striking points that the author made was that of how many, if not almost all, men are most severely wounded by their own father. You would have thought that your dad will be the one who believes in you when everyone else is doubting you. You expect him to do so. Coz when he does, you know that it ain't matter even if the rest are against you. So when it turns out that he is siding with those who doubt you. It hurts the most. It kills off your hope. It strips you off your courage and belief to be a real man. Because the man who is suppose to show you how to be a real man, the one whose approval matters the most.. does not side with you. He loves you.. yes. But a father's role is not simply to love and nurture. He is more than just that. He is your assurance, stronghold, strength. He leads you into adventure, he fights with you side by side, he shows you how to rescue a beauty. When your father of flesh and blood ca...

journal: a little update

wow I am actually back to this blog. between Apr 27 2018 and now.. what has happened? I officially proposed to my girlfriend (wah.. trust me you gonna miss that word), got married, and.. became a dad. yeah.. all in a matter of less than 2 years. now when you consider the fact that in 2015 I would not have the slightest idea how things would turn out, it just goes to show how life changes in a blink. How is married life? Well.. I am one of those who has pretty pragmatic view when it comes to marriage. I have seen enough to know that relationship is messy. So.. I must say marriage has been way way better than my expectation hah.. For example.. I knew that my wife is a smart woman. I knew some of her shortcoming too.. (and there are some I didn't know till we got married, of course) BUT... here's the big bonus. I didn't know she can be that adorably funny in her own way. Not funny like a standup comedian funny but.. you know.. she makes me laugh. Trust me....
