Stand by me Jesus!

Happy new year mortals!
Well.. funny isn't it how we spend millions and millions of dollars to celebrate a shift from one day to another.
Anyway..

I thank God that 2014 is over.
the less said about 2014 the better.
i know five years from now, i will probably only remember the good things about 2014.
but I am lacking the talent to accept everything now (*jay chou's 'an jing' playing)

but i will journal here my 'last list' in 2014.

The last movie that I watched was Stand by me, Doraemon.
That movie is probably the highlight of my 2014 cinema affair.
Certainly the best animation of the year for me.
And I teared all the way, damn you nobita!

The last passages that I read repeatedly, are Hebrews 12 and James 1.
Both of which are amazingly relevant. God's Word! Oh how I love it.

The last two books that I read, are 'First you have to row a little boat' and 'Zero to One'.
Both are secular books. HOWEVER..
oh how they spoke to my life!!especially the 'little boat'.
And YES, highly recommended!
Zero to One is more about insight into building a successful business actually.

The last sermon spoke about this verse:

Yeah, Isaiah 41:10.

And then, the last person I met with (apart from my family),
was Andri kuya! On 31st Dec.
For whatever reason, I have always wanted to meet with him.

I consider him and my brother to be of the same spirit as me.
Well, we are not necessarily that similar.
But it was truly a joy to share with him and learn from his perspective.
One thing for sure, we admire CS Lewis and John Piper just as much.

The meeting helps me in charting my journey for 2015, from ministry pov.

Oh.. what else?
Ok.. here it is.
Thank you to all my close friends who sincerely come to offer me support and pray for me.
When I feel like the other side are cheering my fall in their camp, it gives me comfort to know that God has sent some true friends who stood by me, just like Doraemon.
Not alone after all.

Come 2015, let's take a walk.

Hmm..

si mahasiswa NTU yg bunuh diri itu denger2 namanya david. sigh.. mgkn final year presssure was too much to him. jadi inget masa2 kerjain final year project, tinggal 3 bulan dan gua maseh blank. untung ngga masuk berita ky dia. life is a funny thing. well since there is a chance that this may not be a simple suicide, lets not assume so. maybe there's a truth behind this. duh.. jd inget kalo di conan trus dia bilank, "ini bukan bunuh diri.. ini adalah kasus pembunuhan!" jadi serasa mao jadi detektip -_-

Father

I am reading the book "Wild at Heart". One of the most striking points that the author made was that of how many, if not almost all, men are most severely wounded by their own father. You would have thought that your dad will be the one who believes in you when everyone else is doubting you. You expect him to do so. Coz when he does, you know that it ain't matter even if the rest are against you. So when it turns out that he is siding with those who doubt you. It hurts the most. It kills off your hope. It strips you off your courage and belief to be a real man. Because the man who is suppose to show you how to be a real man, the one whose approval matters the most.. does not side with you. He loves you.. yes. But a father's role is not simply to love and nurture. He is more than just that. He is your assurance, stronghold, strength. He leads you into adventure, he fights with you side by side, he shows you how to rescue a beauty. When your father of flesh and blood ca...
