it just occurs to me that,
today, this moment, i and my fellow comrades,
we are standing on the position where Ko Omar stood,
eight years ago, at St James church.
How he saw us eight years ago,
is probably similar to how we see the young people
in our church and cellgroup.
and only now do i realise,
it's truly not easy.
only now do i understand that,
the most precious quality in a church worker, a servant of God,
is not talent,
not even passion,
it is the teachable spirit.
Among Jesus' 12 disciples, only some who show outstanding talent and quality.
but why did He keep the rest?
and why did these 'average' disciples went on to become the legendary apostles, brought many lives to Jesus and eventually died for His name?
because they were teachable,
thus they were called His 'disciples', not worker, not servant, not follower, not believer.
Disciple.
if the person doesn't have enough talent,
but is willing to accept his mistakes and learn,
he can be outstanding one day.
if the person is very talented and passionate,
but insisting on doing things his own way,
refusing to be corrected,
he will be misleading one day.
the good thing about our Christianity is that,
we can always return to the bible and God to define what is right or wrong.
but the problem with many people nowadays is,
they prefer to use their own understanding to decide what is right for them.
