i asked a taboo question during our last leadership training.
and the way the guy answered it,
it was obvious that he was putting down the person who asked the question.
his points were valid,
but his motives were questionable.
i wonder if that was an answer straight from his heart.
in the midst of all bethany leaders, who uphold the value of submission to leaders,
he couldn't have answered it sincerely.
that was the moment i realise that this guy was no different from the rest.
you see... when you are a leader,
your greatest nightmare is to have your followers rebelling against your authority,
to lose their respect and to be questioned by them.
i used to and am still struggling to deal with this issue,
of nodding my head while my heart saying no,
just because the guy is a leader.
but i learn that God values submission,
for it symbolises your humility,
willing to give in knowing perfectly that the other guy got it wrong.
and i learn that God loves peacemaker,
for they shall be called the children of God.
so if it's still up to us, Paul said, make peace.
my friend, a property agent,
has this simple theory when it comes to following a leader.
when he feels that he can no longer grow under a manager,
he will just move on and find a better manager who could help him improve further.
it sounds like a lack of loyalty,
but i thot that's at least better than staying put,
and constantly at disagreement with your leader.
if i decide to follow,
i should just do my best to follow..
oh well.. what a complicated matter.
that's why if it's up to me, i choose to be a wanderer heh ^^
