Eat!!

Lookie lookie.. I want to join this chicken rice eating competition at Meritus Mandarin's ChatterBox. Hohoh.. pay 10$ to eat the overrated "best chicken rice in Singapore", and most importantly, got 2000$ price plus 3000$ vouchers for winner. I dunno if I could win though considering my seriously decreasing eating capacity (which sadly does not result in seriously decreasing waistline). In any case.. a set of their chicken rice cost you more than 10$ so even if I am not there to compete, it's still a good value for money (kiasu mode ON!). We even joked yesterday that maybe we should register together and while the others are eating as fast and as much as they could, we will be sitting there enjoying our meal happily =D Which makes me think. hmm.. sure got lots of people joining this @@

Untitled #4

Closing of Untitled #3 ============================ Devil Peak. Dusk. Red sky. Red earth. Broken swords. Dead bodies. Void of life. Overwhelming emotion. No one could ever describe the greatness of the battle that has taken place. No one has ever seen such battle, and there will never be another battle of this kind in the world. Two persons stand side by side. As if they have nothing to do with everything that has happened. As if they have nothing to do with anything that happens in this world. Their whole bodies are battered, terribly. But their eyes.. not even the morning star could compare to these eyes. The vivacity, the passion. Just like the eyes of the little kids who are yet to understand any wordly matter. Free of hatred, full of hope. "I finally understood", the woman breaks the silence. "What did you understand?" the man asks. "That life can be beautiful", she smiles. He looks at her intently. And he has to agree, he speaks gently, "Life ca...

She: hey.. go take CFA lah if you are bored. Me : but, if I take CFA I got to study and that is boring too. She: Different! That is meaningful boredom. If you spend your time doing nothing, that is meaningless boredom. Me : Haha.. meaningful boredom. What a way to put it. It's better than meaningless boredom indeed. She: Yes yes.. Me : Just that.. I dunno what to do with that CFA after I pass it. She: If you ask me, the only good thing is that you can proudly tell everyone that you have passed LOL Me : Haha.. so why you took it? She: Dumb. Me : (laugh) at least meaningful dumb is better than meaningless dumb She: You learn fast It's rare indeed to find a girl rather sincerely admitting she is dumb, fat, and somewhat evil. I know that was sincere because she is just the type of girl who doesn't know how to be unsincere. She barks when she is angry, she blushes when she is shy, she laughs heartily when she is happy. She praises you and criticizes you with equal ease. What you...

Farewell DB10

Legend. It's an overused word in football. For World Cup football fans there is only one legend whose retirement worth mentioning at the moment. That is Zinedine Zidane. For Premiership football fans, there are three legends who has retired recently. There is a Scot forward who most people can't bother to remember. Erm.. Duncan Ferguson anyone? There is an English forward who, despite his rough play, deserves my admiration for his bravery and fighting spirit. I will miss your spirit, Alan Shearer. And then, there is one Dennis Bergkamp. I started supporting Arsenal the year Bergkamp signed for Arsenal from Inter Milan. My allegiance to Arsenal has nothing to do with his arrival though. It was more of coincidence. Eleven years down the road, the time has finally come to bid farewell to this man. Looking back.. he has really been the catalyst for Arsenal's return to elite football. Anyone who has seen him playing in his prime would have told you that he is undoubtedly the bes...

Oh no..

Rite.. so I was hopelessly searching for something nice to watch and then I realized I got these serials I borrowed soemtimes ago. The title of one of the serials, "Diao Man Gong Zhu" or "Mischievous Princess", which was translated by my friend as "Funky Princess", was not exactly appealing to me. So I never touched them until last week. Decided to give it a try and goodness.. this serial was truly lighthearted and funny! I couldn't help liking the female lead pictured here. Ya.. you guess it.. she is the "funky" princess. She is truly adorable even when she disguises herself as a man (which is often). I can't say that she is pretty but she is poisonously adorable. There was only one thing that I couldn't understand. Her mimic, the way she talk, is so Korean. But this is a Taiwanese serial. So I thought she must be a Chinese. I still believed so until I realized that I overlooked one important fact. The male lead is Tommy Hsu (that wa...

Another typical Gu Long conversation: (taken from the legendary sibling) “Because men do not like smart girls, they’re afraid that the girls would be better than them, so the smarter the girl, the more she has to pretend to be stupid and weak. Since men by nature like to feel that they are better than women, like to protect women, so why shouldn’t women let them think a little more, and suffer a little more.” I like the way Gu Long throw in his own observation through the dialog in his novel. Those thought of him may not always be true but they are always interesting. Been reading a lot of Gu Long's work lately, trying to capture the essence of his style. ^^

Tinkering Time

Had dinner with Hady, Vy, and the others last night. Turned out to be rather eventful heh =D Went to a restaurant most of us are familiar with.. it was packed and they expectedly messed up with the orders. One of our orders was given to someone else and we ended up cancelling that one coz everyone had finished eating by the time they realized their blunder. So the owner tried to be nice (he is a nice chap by the way) and told us: "Next time you come, it's (the cancelled dish) on us!" Those business people are damn smart, aren't they? Why next time? So I played dumb and told him that he could always give us discount then. He had no choice of course. So he gave that half hearted 10% disc. I am not one who would bother to ask for such thing usually. In fact I acted rather 'shamelessly' that night. You could say that I was INSPIRED lately haha. I was inspired coz I felt sometimes people care too much about their dignity or pride that they forget that it's inte...

just for fun

dian sent me this link and I decided to blog it coz: 1. that Nadine interview is really funny. but please, do give her the benefit of doubt. She is trying at least. And let's wish her all the best as fellow Indonesians. 2. the blogger, mer, turns out to be a rather interesting, or extremely interesting, creature with flair in writing. certainly entertaining. thankss dian. *oh oh... that merlyna's blog suddenly vanished @@ anyway, its in the www.missuniverse.com, just find our indonesian representative's interview video. Oh yeah.. so far my fave is the Thai rep. She is not the most beautiful by definition but who cares =D oh and vy introduced me to this clip: that Acha is erm.. soo my type ^^ and Owen got me the album.. fwah.. I guess I am really spoilt.. thanks thankss ^^ oh and I want to watch the movie "My Heart", even if the story should be pretty much predictable. Nirina is one of my favorite personalities too. She is just so likeable. Yup2.. that's all. ...

Movie Movie

I have not watched movies that regularly this year. But I feel that things are peaking up now that I began my July with Superman, and this week, Keira Knightley. I loved Pirates of Carribean and I hope Captain Jack will entertain me as much with the sequel. Obviously Keira herself worth the movie tic. 'King and the Clown' will be a korean movie I want to watch. Then there are these French movies coming to Cathay. 'Lemming' is a thriller I intend to watch and if I am bored enough, I will watch 'The Beat that My Heart Skipped', only because I like the title. Oh yeah, there is this Chinese movie I might watch, 'Dragon Tiger Gate'. It's just an old school Hong Kong action flick but the title reminds me of Tiger Wong and Gold Dragon. Woo..

It's Over!!

Yeah.. World Cup is over. When I saw Italy's first two games' result, and upon tracing the path they need to take to win the holy grail, I have sensed that they would be in the final. But I had no idea who the other team would be, and I definitely wouldn't expect France to be there. When I knew that it was Italy vs France, I told my friends that I would back Italy to win. I suppose any Arsenal fan would back France to win. In fact I would love to see Zizou winning the Cup for one last time. But this Italy side has got the luck as well as mentality and therefore, deserved to win it. Domenech was as clueless as a certain Swede yet Lippi was tactically in par with Mourinho. No contest. Speaking of Zizou.. surely everyone are condemning him right now, with the local newspaper all asking the big "WHY". Some even went as far as questioning whether he was a saint or a devil. He was definitely not a saint but if that headbutt is good enough to make him a devil, we would ...

Last Piece of Rika =P

I too have grown disillusioned about all this romantic stuff, for it does not equal happiness. I too have grown to understand that there is a limit even for the most sacred love between humans. I too have found myself faced with more questions than answers everytime I see a marriage. But how else can I paint the story? For I can't imagine myself loving a plain black and white story, as beautiful as it is. I would rather a colorful story, regardless the color. So yeah, I will choose to be naive, believing that I will be among the few who are blessed with such colorful story. Maybe you should cosider that too, Vy =P To Anonym., yup2.. I agree that in Kanchi's eyes, the fragile Satomi needed him more. But I think what Satomi needed was not Kanchi in particular. She needed someone who would love and care for her the way Kanchi did. And probably anyone with such compassion for her would do. Haha maybe I was biased but that was what I felt as I watched the drama. Rika, on the other h...

More on Rika

Hoho thanks linda for reminding me that it was Rika who went early. I really should rewatch the drama. I guess Rika really had given up on her hope. linda says: i think this could be what she had in mind, "if he really loves me, why would he think twice about choosing me?" and at that time I was thinking that Kanchi must be mad. I was a junior high school kid but even my heart melted whenever Rika calls "Kanchiiiii...." and I couldn't stand the sight of satomi. mm.. returning to linda's remark.. I am.. erm.. speechless haha. Full of doubt, think too much, indecisive.. in short, dumb. We, boys, are really stupid sometimes ya.. *ponders*
