Oh no..

Rite.. so I was hopelessly searching for something nice to watch and then I realized I got these serials I borrowed soemtimes ago.

The title of one of the serials, "Diao Man Gong Zhu" or "Mischievous Princess", which was translated by my friend as "Funky Princess", was not exactly appealing to me. So I never touched them until last week.

Decided to give it a try and goodness.. this serial was truly lighthearted and funny! I couldn't help liking the female lead pictured here. Ya.. you guess it.. she is the "funky" princess. She is truly adorable even when she disguises herself as a man (which is often). I can't say that she is pretty but she is poisonously adorable.

There was only one thing that I couldn't understand. Her mimic, the way she talk, is so Korean. But this is a Taiwanese serial. So I thought she must be a Chinese. I still believed so until I realized that I overlooked one important fact. The male lead is Tommy Hsu (that was after I watched the whole 36 episodes and decided that I liked this actress). Tommy Hsu has been paired with Korean actress a couple of times so.. I asked google.

It turns out that this princess is.. erm.. Jang Nara =( How come I never realized it? Well. easy.. coz I never liked Jang Nara for no particular reason, I avoid any serial involving Jang Nara. Sigh..

There is another actress I had insisted not to like, Cecilia Cheung. Why? I dunno.. I just categorized her and Jang Nara under my "dislike list". Yet I saw the "Fly Me to Polaris" clip yesterday.. hm.. the last time I saw the clip was 5 years ago. And somehow I felt that she was actually very sweet. How come like that?

Can we really change? That one day we will change our opinion on someone who has been around for years.. this person who we initially dislike, we suddenly find this person very likeable. We will realize that we like this person. Hm... like that how?

Father

I am reading the book "Wild at Heart". One of the most striking points that the author made was that of how many, if not almost all, men are most severely wounded by their own father. You would have thought that your dad will be the one who believes in you when everyone else is doubting you. You expect him to do so. Coz when he does, you know that it ain't matter even if the rest are against you. So when it turns out that he is siding with those who doubt you. It hurts the most. It kills off your hope. It strips you off your courage and belief to be a real man. Because the man who is suppose to show you how to be a real man, the one whose approval matters the most.. does not side with you. He loves you.. yes. But a father's role is not simply to love and nurture. He is more than just that. He is your assurance, stronghold, strength. He leads you into adventure, he fights with you side by side, he shows you how to rescue a beauty. When your father of flesh and blood ca...
