Today I proudly proclaim that I have finally learned to have faith in queue ^^ Yes. Whenever you see an unusually long queue in Singapore, you just have to believe that there is something good and cheap or even free up for grab. Singaporean don't queue for nothing! Kiasu? Nah.. that's called nose for opportunity =P
I have wanted to come up with my argument to support this whole kiasu issue, and have actually typed them down. On second thot, I can't be bothered.
I just want to say that despite kiasuism being something that is not exactly noble, people have to really stop condemning those who practice it. And more importantly, realizing that there is that kiasu gene in almost everyone. In the event where the resources are scarce, that kiasu spirit would awaken. Homo homini lupus, is that the term?
So yeah.. don't think too highly of ourselves, the 'generous' and 'gotong royong' Indonesian.
Anyway, I was actually talking about the queue in front of Ngee Ann's Levi's outlet. Apparently they have this renovation sale, up to 70%! Now that explains the queue. But I was amazed to be honest. I would never expect this kind of queue to take place in Indonesia. Anyway, the queue was okay, not THAT long, so I decided to join in.
Oh and.. there are Indonesians there ^^
They got lotsa stock with all the different sizes still available since it just started two days ago. I would have found two or three things but for the overwhelming crowd. I ended up with only one thing, though English decide to call it "a pair of". And that was the cheapest one, 25$. The cashier fellow was a bit startled as I handed him the stuff. "Only one?' He asked. "Cheapest some more.. this cheapo.. " probably that's what he thought =D
Not that I really wanted to find the cheapest one but it was the only one that I liked among the four that I have tried. Everytime you can only bring in two sets max to the changing room and I couldn't stand another round of changing room queue bleah..
Ya.. so this is your chance to find yourselves some bargain jeans. And better be fast, coz Singaporean's respond to such sales is exceptional.
