A Thursday and I am Battered

Quite many things has happened in the last few days, problem in office among them, and I think I have been disappointing, made mistakes I shouldn't have made but I am fighting back now, yes I am! Please remind me to keep on fighting, keep on going. God knows how weak I am on my own.. so please, carry me one more time, and fight alongside me one more time. Not giving up, don't give up on me.

Anyway, when I was doing the MyersBrigs (whatever the spelling) quiz, there was one question I wasn't sure of answering, whether I prefer to begin or to finish something. Now I know that I prefer to begin something. I find my interest wane as things are heading towards completion. That is really bad, especially when you are a software engineer, you just have to take care of all the details and possibility of errors and bugs etc, bleah... I find excitement in coming up with the big picture, in constructing the main structure of the software but I have problem in working on the details. Sigh.. Is there a job where you get paid for simply coming up with some vision or big picture of a project? And then someone else will carry out the implementation and all the detail job?

'Kay.. Still listening to Kerispatih's song.. that Lagu Rindu has been playing nontstop for quite a while. Sweet song. And I like the vocalist's voice.. I always want to have that kinda voice but I guess you just have to learn to love your own voice ya, take it or leave it kinda stuff.

World Cup is coming and as usual I don't support any particular national team. Well probably I would love to see Japan do well. They are in the same group as Brazil and I would love to see another heroic goalkeeping by Yoshikatsu Kawaguchi. I used to dislike football coz I thought it was just unbearable to sit in front of TV for 90 minutes or more just to wait for a goal. But watching Kawaguchi at his best is breathtaking.

If you read a comic called Shoot!, then you will probably realize that the writer was very much inspired by Japan's historic 1-0 win over Brazil in the Olympics game, 10 years ago I guess. Romario was playing for Brazil at that time and Japan was bombarded throughout. The Brazilian coach said after the match that Brazil were defeated by the Japanese goalkeeper, Kawaguchi. Inconsistency and occasional lapse of concentration are his major weaknesses but still.. it's always a joy to watch goalie with such lightning reflex. Kinda miss Kenji Shiraishi, that crazy Kakegawa goalie in Shoot!.. he is just nuts ^^

si mahasiswa NTU yg bunuh diri itu denger2 namanya david. sigh.. mgkn final year presssure was too much to him. jadi inget masa2 kerjain final year project, tinggal 3 bulan dan gua maseh blank. untung ngga masuk berita ky dia. life is a funny thing. well since there is a chance that this may not be a simple suicide, lets not assume so. maybe there's a truth behind this. duh.. jd inget kalo di conan trus dia bilank, "ini bukan bunuh diri.. ini adalah kasus pembunuhan!" jadi serasa mao jadi detektip -_-

Father

I am reading the book "Wild at Heart". One of the most striking points that the author made was that of how many, if not almost all, men are most severely wounded by their own father. You would have thought that your dad will be the one who believes in you when everyone else is doubting you. You expect him to do so. Coz when he does, you know that it ain't matter even if the rest are against you. So when it turns out that he is siding with those who doubt you. It hurts the most. It kills off your hope. It strips you off your courage and belief to be a real man. Because the man who is suppose to show you how to be a real man, the one whose approval matters the most.. does not side with you. He loves you.. yes. But a father's role is not simply to love and nurture. He is more than just that. He is your assurance, stronghold, strength. He leads you into adventure, he fights with you side by side, he shows you how to rescue a beauty. When your father of flesh and blood ca...
